Robbie Keane back in action!

The LA Galaxy’s winless streak in MLS came to an end on Friday night. Robbie Keane returned from a groin injury after seven weeks, and proved himself crucial on Galaxy’s first win since April.

LA captain Keane came off the bench in the 56th minute to end a seven-game stint on the sidelines. Galaxy’s winless run was likely to stretch over sixth match until second-half stoppage time. Keane’s comeback made all the difference for LA Galaxy, as he ignited the very successful LA attack in the stoppage time. Alan Gordon’s nailed a header into the net from the cross of Robbie Keane in the 92nd minute, as the MLS reigning champ triumphed 1-0 over the visiting Houston Dynamo.

Galaxy defender Oscar Sorto was shown a red card in the 96th minute for a tackle from behind on Dynamo’s David Horst. Referee only awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, although the tackle began just inside the area. The Galaxy will host the Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, while the Dynamo will play against New York City FC on next Saturday.

While on the other match of the night, Chicago fire came from behind with a late rally despite a 2-0 deficit. Kei Kamara put the Crew 2-0 up, but the visiting side surged back with David Accam goal in the 58th minute and Johnson header in the 94th minute to clinch a 2-2 draw.
